This is as far as I got today on her name mural. She has been the director. Each color, shade, and dot. LOL. She wanted this to be watercolor looking. Tomo I will finish up the base painting and hopefully, start some of the detailed work in it. I think her color choices are very bright and pretty.

This was made with Aunt Lydias Big Ball thread. I got the pattern from an Old Time Crochet book. It is a chair back cover. My daughter loves horses, so this was a big birthday present for her a few years ago. It is the biggest thing I have ever made with thread. Whew!

A Long, Long Day

I thought today would NEVER end. I usually run about 6 feet of mail a day. Since this was day after a holiday I had over 12 ft. Yes, 2 days of mail to carry in one day. Yes, I was late. Yes, I heard about how late I was from alot of people who have nothing better to do than stare out their window and wait on me. *hmmph*.

But, now that I'm home I've been catching up on Morgan's Room project. I hav been taking pics throughout this venture so you can see my day to day accomplishments. I love painting. Its just hard to concentrate with 2 girlies breathing right over my shoulder. Hmmm.. Maybe I should get them a new crochet or painting project too... *HMMMM*

Tonight, I will settle in and browse patterns looking for my next project! I love that about as much as making something!

Happy Memorial Day!

I enjoyed having the day off today. It was overcast and drizzly outside all day. But, it was wonderful, nonetheless. Thank you to all the veterans past and present for putting your lives on the line for our freedom. You are appreciated!.

I finished up some massive 12inch squares today for another comfortghan. They were a really nice color too.. Purples, khaki, and green. Went through my stash today, to see just what I have aquired. Still not enough.. HaHaHa.

Sketched out on Morgan's wall the mural I will be painting as soon as I have time. And thats about it. I'll post pics of before, during and after of this mural. Its going to be a drawn out one. Must make time for crochet though. Eat, sleep, breathe.....crochet. CHEERS!

Thank you to all who surf through my blog. If you want any patterns or info just email me at: dixieredhead@gmail.com.

I designed this poncho for my daughters after seeing one like it in GAP. It is made with a large spool of 100% cotton yarn. The girls received alot of compliments at school, from teachers as well as students.

Through Rain and Sleet and Snow...

What a Day! Delivering the mail is not as easy as most people think. We not only sell stamps, and chunk mail into boxes... its a long day. I saw 2 coyotes today, that was a bit freaky! We had a cook out this afternoon so, I haven't hit the crocheting yet. But it is on my mind.

I'm trying to think up Christmas presents now so I have quite a while to complete them. I mailed out those comfortghan squares today. That was a good feeling.

Morgan has started on a red cotton dishcloth (tulip stitch). I'll keep her progress updated. For now though, I'm going to dry my 2 little waterlogged girlies out(who have been swimming all afternoon) and grab a hook.

CHEERS!

What a Day!

Today, Morgan and I made some squares for 2 comfortghans. She did a really great job. I think she is becoming as addicted as I am. Everytime I see her with free time, she always has a hook in hand! Thats My Girl! Now if I could only get the 8yr old to pick up a hook, I would have even more reason to BUY MORE THREAD!!!!!! right? *wink*

Maybe I can figure out how to put link buttons on here, next!

Made with Baby Clouds puffy thread. Double crochets with N hook. Bordered with baby clouds white. Oh so warm and snuggly!

Here I am!

Well tonight I've started a journey. I decided to create a blog just for me. Since I have determined I'm a crochet junkie, why not put it on the net. Scream at the top of my lungs... " YES! I CROCHET! I BUY MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF THREAD FOR NO REASON AT ALL! I LIVE FOR PATTERNS, COLORS, TEXTURES! " I feel much better now....on with the show!
