life isn't fair
Life isn't fair. Tonight is a pity party. An open letter to my mom:
Dear mom.
Believe it or not I love you. Even though I cannot speak to you, you forever remain in my heart. I don't understand how you could turn your back on me and your grandchildren. I don't understand how you can act like nothing is wrong to your other family and coworkers.
I have 2 of the most wonderful young ladies the world has ever seen. I am raising them right. I am teaching them about the world, and the people in it. You see, I have learned something from you. I learned the kind of parent not to be.
I don't hate you. I pray for you. I know God has a purpose in this, and I know God loves you and so do I. I won't be at any family gatherings. I won't be in your way. You know what happened was real and It scarred my daughter forever, as it did me. We were not the only ones, you know there are others.I know you must have reasons, but just think what your unbelief and ignoring has done to your grandchildren. They will survive, they will move on and so will I.
Just know we are praying for you bothand God's will in your life.I know He loves you and He loves him. God is always there, and He will never fail you. I talk to God and He talks to me. I've given my heart to Him.
In God's eternal love,
your daughter.

Mission: repurpose
Oh yes, Scotty dogs! I forgot to mention I found a cool little stuffie pattern here.
Aren't they the cutest? This is my first attempt from a pair of recycled girls pants. I made it in just alittle while. I think I'm addicted!
Mission: repurpose
Went to the thrift store today. I found 2 flat cotton sheets, and 2 pairs of little girl stretchy pants. These will be repurposed into 2 pajama bottoms, and a few scotty dogs. The bright red fabric is a very pleated, very bright dress I found for 50 cents. It will become new throw pillows for the couch.
As you can see, it is very pleated.
Mission: repurpose
Let me just say right now, upfront... I am not a "sew"er. I want to be. I long to be. I need to be. But, I'm just not there yet. Case in point this pincushion. Which is an awesome freebie pattern from Heather Bailey. You can download a copy of the pattern here. Anywho, after multiple repinning, and trying to lay it flat, I finally won.

Meet my Squishy!
Hey ya'll! I wanted to share my latest FO. I call him squishy and he shall be mine. He's an octophrost. I found him on this blog, and I HIGHLY recommend you check it out. Futuregirl has some wicked creativity, and mad sewing skills!
This little dude was so cute, too! She calls him the"Santa of the Sea" . Well, he popped out and wanted to be mine. And, who could resist those big, bulging eyes. I sure couldn't say no. You can read more about them here and here . You can also purchase the pdf pattern online here. I loved the christmas tree decorated with 99 of these little octophrost's, too. Can you imagine a 74 yr old grammie making them for all her grandkids and great grand kids. What an awesome accomplishment! Join me, make your own octopus stuffie and share with the flickr group

The World's Most Dangerous Chocolate Cake Recipe
5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE
1 Coffee Mug
4 tablespoons flour(that's plain flour, not self-rising)
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons baking cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips
Some nuts (optional)
Small splash of vanilla
Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well . Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla, and mix again. Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes on high. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed! Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired. EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to share!)
And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night

Completed project: Daisy #6
Daisy , by Yoko Suzuki from Laceworks. I've had this pattern book for ages, but never made a pattern. I present #6 Daisy made with some awesome threads "Lisbeth" size 20. I ordered from here. Its the first time I've tried these threads and I must say they are very nice to work with! This is also a present. Maybe I'll make me another doily, after the holidays..... Size is 18"diameter, made with a size 10 hook.

Completed project: very best circle doily
this project comes from Celt's crochet. I made the smaller version. The pattern can be found here. I added alittle "bling" to the edges, and made the picots in the center of the edging. It was really easy. I used size 8 valdani thread in blue and size 10 white thread and size 10 hook. Measures 14 " diameter. Christmas present. Pics are clickable.

CVS: for all the ways you care
So, I'm a frugal gal. I decided to start reading frugal forums and find some real money/time/effort saving tips. I found a great forum here . great tips and advice for the newly frugal.
One of their biggies is saving with coupons (q's) and other valuable things from different stores. I have a CVS in town and decided to try out the extra care buck program (ebc's). The way to use them is this: you get the Sunday newspaper and clip the coupons in there. Some you can use in different places, some at CVS. Then you check the weekly circular and see what items they have as buy 1 get 1 free, and match the coupons to the product. I had been doing little deals and saving up the ebc's. Only buying products that I will really use and actually need. I saved up 16 ebc's and went in today with my q's (coupons). Here is what I got:
2 toothpastes, 6 razors, 4 deo's, 1 pine sol, and 1 shampoo. Total price: 44.65
But, what did I pay? 4.85. No kidding. The clerk did a double take too, but he said nothing. Suits me just fine. I like CVS!
