9 in '09: February Doily: Pineapple Song

Finished but not yet blocked. Made with size 20 Opera in Goldenrod, and size 12 valdani in a varigated bronze/brown/gold combination. Size 10 hook. I'm pleased with how this turned out. Even more happy after it is blocked....

I'm heading back to Ultimate Doilies, I'm on #3 Notable Difference in my quest to complete all patterns in this booklet....wish me luck.

Thread Picot Tutorial

I've had a few people ask me about making a tutorial on picots. I finally, had time to make one.
Photobucket
First, you need to ch3 or whatever number your pattern says is needed for the picot.

Photobucket
In the ch3, there is a left side and a right side of each chain. Slip your hook thru the left side ONLY loop.

Photobucket
After slipping thru the left side loop, wrap the thread around the hook once, pinch the picot and pull down using your thumb and forefinger, while pulling the loop thru. (Sometimes this is a bugger to do, but pulling down makes the picot puffy)

Photobucket
Voila! Your finished ch3 picot.

Ornaments:1

I found this booklet on eBay a few weeks ago. I've made 2 ornaments so far. I really like how they are turning out, too. I want to make at least a dozen for my tree this year!
